The SCARC Foundation Endowment Fund was created to support the ongoing efforts of SCARC, Inc. and SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. SCARC Inc. addresses the lifelong needs of individuals by providing a wide variety of community-based supports to adults and children including residential, recreational, and employment programs. SCARC Guardianship Services assists families with becoming guardian for their loved one, as well as serving as guardian for many individuals, and overseeing a community trust. The SCARC Foundation Endowment Fund relies on the assistance of corporate and individual contributions in order to continue their support of these essential services.

Summer Experience is a two-week program provided in four sessions June through August for teens and young adults ages 15 to 25. Through the financial support of the SCARC Foundation Endowment Fund, individuals with developmental disabilities, such as Autism, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile X Syndrome, and seizure disorders, engage in typical summer activities. With the care and guidance of well-trained staff, Summer Experience participants have the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of warm weather interests and adventures that also support socialization, skill building, and provide educational opportunities. For many individuals this is the only opportunity that they have to enjoy the summer in the company of peers. As the parents of one of the participants stated, “Our son, Connor, was extremely fortunate to be able to participate in the Summer Experience Program.
